Well time for another journal entry. I'm picking up the pace a bit. It's only been 5 months since the last one.
Regarding comments, watches and favorites, I feel I should let you all know my "policies". First, I am not a snob, but am socially maladaptive, somewhat ADHD and really busy. So my responses to comments favs and such is always going to be spotty. So if you don't get a thank you, please don't take it personal.
Favorites - I never thank people for favorites. It's too simple to click the fav button. But if you fav something of mine I almost always take a quick peek at your gallery. I figure me looking at your gallery is better than a note anyway. If something catches my eye, I will fav it in return. I'm picky but eclectic. If you look at my favs you'll see that I will select quirky things as well as really good stuff. If for some inexplicable reason my view counts take off and I start getting lots of favs, I'll have to cut back on viewing galleries.
Watches - I sometimes thank people for a watch. I do visit the gallery of someone that adds me to their watch list. I occasionally reciprocate and add them to mine watch list. I can't watch everybody because I already get too many things to look at everyday.
Comments - Currently I try to respond to any and all comments. But I'm easily distracted and sometimes forget. I figure if someone takes the little extra time necessary to make a comment then I will try my best to reciprocate. Currently, I comment on others more than people comment on my pieces.
Critiques - Critiques are ALWAYS appreciated and will result in an extended exchange of comments.

Why I do photo realism.
On another art site there is a thread about detail and texture and why do people do it. I mean, why not just take a photo? This was my response. I think it is worth repeating.
I personally think there is a big misconception as to why people in general and myself specifically are attracted to doing extreme detail and complex texture. Anyone that's been around the art world for very long has heard the phrase 'draw what you see' over and over again. Here's the rub - you CAN'T draw detail and texture unless you first SEE the detail and texture. People that train themselves to render hyper-realism are as much about seeing things at a depth far be

I would appreciate any help you could give me to help me improve my drawings. I'm getting to a point that I don't know what to do. Anything would be appreciated. I have thick skin. Thanks ( My last one for instance)
